An independent advisor since the mid-1980s, I entered the business in 1981 with a small regional firm and was licensed to sell securities in 1981. Almost immediately, I had the strong sense that selling had no place in the business of advising clients about their money. So I set out to become one of the first Certified Financial Planners™ in the area and obtained that designation in 1989. I followed by earning a Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 1995 with a particular focus on the management of wealth and on estate planning for the wealthy.
Since that time I have made a specialty of advising families and individuals of means, continually drawing closer to them, updating their financial plans while managing their wealth in order to help them meet their retirement and legacy goals. Simply put, I care about my clients.
A Word About Resources and My Affiliation with Carroll Financial:
Back in the early 90s, I met Larry Carroll and his wife Vivian at an Advanced Planners Conference in Washington DC. What immediately impressed me about Larry were his complete dedication to independence, his commitment to high ethical standards, and his ability to take complicated topics and distill them into simple language.
When I had the opportunity to launch a new financial planning practice in 2001, I immediately approached Larry about joining his group.
Seventeen years later, I am still honored to be a part of the Carroll Financial family and consider this affiliation and my friendship with Larry to be a large part of my success in this business.
